Guest guest
Hi Sharon, My name is Holly. I am 34 yrs old today (it's my birthday). I read your post. I have CMT type 1A. I was diagnosed when I was 18 yrs old- my first year of college majoring in nursing. The Voc Rehab counsellor tried to talk me out of being a nurse due to the CMT. But it was all that I had ever dreamed of being since I was very young. So with a lot of hard work and determination, and pain in my feet from the CMT- I graduated from R.N. school in 1993. I have been employed by the same hospital for 11 yrs. now. I currently work in home health. I had to get off the med-surg floor due to pain in my feet. I have never regretted one minute of my career. I love what I do, even though it is very challenging with the CMT at times. Tell your daughter to pursue whatever her dreams are. If you set your mind to it, you can conquer more than you think. If she wants to write to me, tell her to feel free. Maybe I can encourage her some. I was 23 when I got married. I have a 5 yr old daughter. I, too, grew up on a farm. Never had horses. Hope to hear from ya, Holly
