Ref: The state's hand in the proliferation of AIDS quacks in MP

Dear sir,

I agree with the author on most point. But I have objection on the terminology

used with modern medicine. I think modern medicine means not only allopathy but

all concepts which help to heal the disease is modern medicine. So even the

traditional healers help to cure or minimize the effect of HIV/AIDS disease we

should inquire and promote some research work in that line and try to find some

way.

As you know that the controversy raised during International conference on

HIV/AIDS at Thailand about use of condoms. The Uganda Government has accepted

they are able to control HIV infection by ABC policy. Mr. Bush President of USA

also supported ABC policy same months back.

And our culture is saying since decade that Follow " Bhramcharya " means " till

marriage no sexual contact and after marriage faithful partner " .

Now we are accepting same when it comes from western world.

I dont know when we will able to change our mind. Many drugs and many facts

about lifestyle disorders are already written in our ancient literatures but we

are not promoting same.

I think AIDS INDIA group co-ordinator should promote Indian remedy for treatment

of AIDS disease. At present we are blindly following western people because they

are giving funds. We are ready to use our people as guinea pig for HIV research.

So we should do something on this aspect also

Thanking you
