Guest guest
I hope that this post is not inappropriate for this list, but as a dog breeder, groomer and show handler, I find I would really like to come up with some home made dog shampoos. Any help on recipes that could be adapted and what ingredients might be needed to achieve my goals in what I want to accomplish with this. First goal is a deep cleaning shampoo with lots of lather that doesn't make the hair soft. Coat texture needs to stay harsh. A good clean fragrance is important. Second type of shampoo would be for the old rescue collie that I have who seems to have a very bad case of moist skin ecesema(sp). Again good lather and deep cleaning are important but healing qualities are also paramount. Any help anyone could provide on this is greatly appreciated. Another note, these would need to be in a shampoo form not bar soap. Since I'm very, very new at this, I may be taking on something way above my abilities, but my need is pushing me hard!
