Guest guest
Holly, I took Neurontin for some all-of-a-sudden electrical sparks type pain in my arms. Within 3 days I noticed a big difference for the better. I was an instant responder. I ramped up to 900 mg over the course of one weekend. I was in a Neurontin group and learned faster ramping would dismiss wierd effects in the beginning and it did. My CMT pain was not/nor is chronic, as in all the time, every day, and just isolated mostly in my feet. I also did the Medrol Dose pak and Vioxx for my back - unrelated to CMT. The first 3 days of Medrol were great. As I got to lower doses, the pain returned. Vioxx took about 2-3 weeks to kick in, but my back pain felt much less. I was taking the N during the time it was used off-label for pain and after a year stopped it - I wanted to see if the pain would come back. It didn't and still hasn't and that's been several years. Neurontin is now FDA approved for neuropathic pain. I know it rearranged chemicals in my brain that affect my nerves. Gretchen
Guest guest
Kathleen, I too am on Neurontin but not as much as you. It has helped me sleep at night without the leg tremors and cramps. I am glad now to know why my taste is off. Thanks for the info. Lynn
