Guest guest
Hello everyone, I am a quiet member and rarely post. But I've seen many questions about SSI I am 38 and work full time my CMT has affected my balance and I have weak legs but more so affected in my hands. I am considering cutting my hours at work to 32 or 35 hrs.to take better care of myself via excersise ect. I was wondering how many of you work full time and how disabled (per say) do you need to be to think about SSI?
Guest guest
, I have not worked for 3 years and collect long term disability from my previous employer and SSDI. I worked as a manager in a very high-pressure/stressful position in a financial office. My original request 3 years ago and my doctor's recommendation was that I cut hours to no more than 20 hours per week. Since my company could not offer me an equal position at the reduced hours, and since they could not force me to take a demotion due to health problems, they approved full-time disability. At the time, I was having difficulty walking, stooping, lifting, writing, traveling to business meetings, greeting customers, and working under any type of stress due to my progressing weakness, fatigue, and hand tremors. My illness has progressed quite a bit since then, but I am convinced the stress that I was under then made my condition worse than it should be. K. Guest guest
I would agree that being self employed is definitely the key. I'm guessing by the use of the word " LEGITIMITE " you have seen all the junk out there claiming to be a real opportunity. My wife and I have started our own home based business and I'm extremely excited about my future now. I was so fearful of how the corporate world and desk job would work out with my CMT and everything that comes with it. The questions were endless. After seeing my wife's uncle and my mother in law have huge success building their home biz I knew it was for us. The fact that I could see real results from people I trusted made me realize it was good opportunity and not a get rich quick scheme. Because we did have to work.. and work hard. Just like starting any business. We have now gone from feeling helpless to feeling helpful by teaching others how to achieve what we already have. I feel weird posting a message promoting our business on this site that I love dearly but I couldn't pass up the opportunity to share my success with some else in my " shoes " (pun intended) ha ha. Dawn, let me know if you have questions. Thanks Wade
