Hello All. Been away from the cmt group awhile. I'm 40, diagnosed at

age 9. Over the last few years I have had a severe increase in pain

in my left leg from hip to toes. I finally saw a Pain Specialist

today, who wants to try me on Neurontin. I tried small doses of it

thru my neurologist a couple years back to no avail, plus I read all

sorts of bad things about it. Anyone out there have any good luck

with Neurontin helping your Chronic Pain due to CMT? Any bad

experiences? For now he put me on a 7 day Medrol Dose Pack

(methylprednisone) then Vioxx once daily to try to keepme from taking

Lortab so often, which hasn't been giving me much relief anyway. Any

experience, advicee and/or feedback will be greaty appreciated.

Thanks and blessings to you all. Holly Waters, Corpus Christi, TX

five years ago my neurologist in Houston texas put me on to neurontin. I now

take 1800 milligrams a day. I wouldn't live with out it. the only side

affect I seem to have is my loss of the sense of smell and taste, it isn't gone

completely but it is not a acute. to me this is a small price to pay for

living nearly pain free.. my neighbor is on over 4800 miligrams for multiple

sclerosis and he agrees with me it is great. he too loss some of his sense of

taste. I wish everyone could have as good a luck with it as I have. Good luck
