Guest guest
I use different sized hex jars. Cheryl Re: Bath Salts Since we are on the subject of bath salts, what does everyone package their salts in that keeps the scent in? I know that plastic bags and tubes allow the scent to leave so that in a few days you have beautifully colored unscented salts! Yuck! Besides glass and those tin-tie coffee bags, what is the best material for keeping salts scented? karen r

Guest guest
You looking for just bath salts or some bath bombs that have salt in them? I am making my bombs with salts. They have turned out awesome...... My kids love them But I would have to give you some of the ingredients in estimations due to I have guessed when making. The add a lil more of this and lil more of that....... Type deal. LOL It is not of the major ingredients.. So you would be fine. It is more coloring and one of the oils. let me know, I would be more than happy to share. De Bath salts I need a good recipe for bath salts. I would like to add kelp or herbs for a nice looking one. Any combination of Epsom salt, sea salts, would do. Thanks for any recipes or information.
Guest guest
Cheri: Here are a few bath salt recipes I have found. Stress-Relieving Salts 1c. epsom salts 1/4 c. concentrated sea salts 1 tsp. sweet almond oil or apricot kernal oil A few drops of essential oil of lavender or other relaxing scent. Mix salts together. Stir in oil, a few drops at a time. Use 1/4 c. of the salts per bath. Store in a tight container. Oatmeal Salts 1 c. borax 1/8 c. kelp powder 1/8 c. finely ground oatmeal 1/8 c. sea salt Place all in a glass jar. Add your favorite powdered fragrant herb to the salt mixture and mix well or add several drops of your favorite essential oil(s). Let sit for several hours or over night to dry and allow oils to penetrate salts. Break up any lumps that formed when adding the oil. Store in an airtight container. Add about 4 TBSP to bathwater as desired. Midnight Wishes Bath Salts 3/4 epsom salts 1/4 c. sea salts 1/4 c. baking soda 5 drops patchouli oil 4 drops lavender oil 3 drops vanilla fragrance oil 2 drops cedarwood oil Mystical Morn Bath Salts 1-1/2 c. epsom salts 1 c. sea salts 10 drops chamomile oil 8 drops orange oil Mix all ingredients and stir until blended. Use about 1/4 c. in bath. Summer Orchard Bath Salts 3/4 c. epsom salts 1/4 c. sea salts 1/4 c. baking soda 3 drops peach fragrance oil 3 drops bergamet oil 2 drops vanilla fragrance oil 1 drop lime oil Sweet Orange Salts 1 c. epsom salts 1/4 c. sea salts 10 drops of yellow food coloring 5 drops of red coloring 10 drops of orange fragrance oil Enjoy! Guest guest
A really simple but effective bath salt is epsom salts, a few drops of eo to suit your choice of herb, a scattering of the herb and a couple drops of food coloring if you want it to look pretty. This is effective, simple and yummy to use. HTH Di

Guest guest
Just wondering how some of you are packaging your bath salts. I had purchased some nice looking plastic canisters with the clamp down lid and after a couple of weeks, the FO has pitted the inside of the plastic. Have any of you experienced this before? Should I use glass? Thank you for any ideas you may have. Have a Great Day ! It is presweetened a bit, yet I have been adding a bit more sweetener to try and bring out a flavor.....but no luck! I am attempting to make a vanilla lip balm. Any suggestions for a good sweet tasting flavorful balm? Best,
Guest guest
I use glass jars that I buy at Big Lots for $0.99 each. They are good size jars too. ~:~~:~ Re: Bath Salts Just wondering how some of you are packaging your bath salts. Guest guest
Hi I have just bought some of these bags. Sorry if this is a stupid question but could you tell me do you put the salts straight in the bag or do you bag and then re bag in the tin tie bag to help hold the fragrance? Or do you find the bags seal fine as they are? Tricia I use the Kraft tie tin bags with the see through window. B.
Guest guest
If the bags are lined (which mine are, came that way) you should be fine just putting right into the bag =) B.
