Guest guest
Reema, No, no, don't give up art. You can wear a arm//hand brace that holds a paintbrush or pen for you and there is also a way to draw and paint by using an assistive device around your head. Of course, these take some time to learn to use. Also, many people with disabilities hold pens or paintbrushes in their mouths. I saw Joni kson do this about 25 years ago and was so inspired - maybe look into her work. Here is a basic website for her http://www.joniandfriends.org/ (she became disabled from a serious car accident) this tells about her artwork http://www.joniandfriends.org/about/tadabio.shtml Yes, you can do it - you will just need to 'extend' your creativity beyond ordinary bounds. ~ Gretchen
Guest guest
Reema, Please don't give up. Your dreams are what we are made of. I am 57 now and playing my clarinet and bass clarinet in a big band and church orchestra. Yes, my thumbs are no longer staying in the joint and they hurt at tad but with Vit C which I just started they are getting better. Before Vit C I just relied on my neck strap to hold the instrument even with the little Bb clarinet which no one else does. IT WORKS. Actually I think it keeps my hands more limber as well as all the knitting, typing, and sewing I do. As far as pens and pencils, hmm, ok, so my penmanship is not as pretty as it once was. I use triangle teachers aides on my pens and have a Cross Morph Pen that has one built in. This really helps too. Take care and dream on and MAKE IT WORK FOR YOU. Guest guest
Reema, Don't give up what you love to do. My hands are slightly affected and they may or may not continue to get worse. We never know the outcome. There are devices out there that can assist you in your work. I love our saying, We Can Do It. Lynn
