Guest guest
, A placard is a handicapped person's parking permit. Some states they are plastic and hang from the rear-view mirror of one's car, other states have special license plates or decals denoting the driver requires handicapped parking places. MDA helps people with 40 or so neuromuscular diseases/disorders - not all of which are muscular dystrophy either, like ALS and CMT for example. All types of CMT are included within the MDA " umbrella " so this means that CMT1 is included. If you feel you need orthotics, please check in with a MDA clinic near you (go to http://mdausa.org and in the search box on the left put in your zip code to find the one nearest you). Or you may wish to find an orthotist on your own. Your doctor will write you a prescription for orthotics and may be able to recommend orthotists in your area. Or you may find one on your own - Go to http://cpeds.org and look on the left where it says " locate a Cped " . GG
