Guest guest
Hi, I am a 57 (darn) female with CMT and a spinal cord damage. I find that there are alot of lovely people out there (as well as the cruel insensitive ones who I try to ignore) that will help. My friends all are ready to give me a helping hand but sometimes I have to ask as they do not always know when I need it. Steps without a railing are impossible for me so I have to ask. Over the years I really have learned that I just need to open my mouth and there is an arm. Walking is a problem in general for me because of the spinal cord damage and the bilateral triple arthrodesis I have had due to CMT. Pain is something I have learned to live with but it is always a challenge especially in places such as Disneyland which also adds the heat factor. I use a cane for balance and I sometimes resort to a wheelchair when time is of the essence but usually try to stiff lip it and move one leg in front of the other til I get there. Bless you all and - keep going! Candy
