Guest guest
My husband and I are in our late 2o's, married 3 years and have decided that we want to try and have children. My husband has CMT, passed to him by his mother. So get this... I had a Doctor appointment yesterday to discuss pregnancy. Instead I get an hour long lecture about why I should NOT have a child if I know there is a chance of CMT being passed to the child. Talk about an emotional day!! I was saddened about being told, in not so many words, that God gives you as much as you can handle, but there is no reason to knock on his door for more. Am I wrong and irresponsible to think that a child, even if the CMT is passed long to him or her, would be a blessing? - P.S. He wants us to see a genetic counselor, in order to be " informed shoppers " .
