Guest guest
Hi, , Thanks for the comeback. It certainly is good to " chat " with someone who knows what CMT is and all it implies. Like you, I have no pain - at least none that I contribute to the CMT. I have arthritis in my feet and hands and sometimes it flares up - but it goes away after about 24 hours and doesn't come back for weeks. But, the " dead " feeling in my feet & lower legs drives me crazy. My left foot feels like it has a tight cast on it and when I walk it feels like my socks have bunched up under the foot when they really have not. I find both feet very heavy to lift but the left one is the worse, even tho the right one is the most swollen. Even at night they are like this - never stops feeling numb and stiff. I think one of my first signs was also my inability to flex my toes - and my daughter used to laugh at me and show me how she could flex hers (this was years ago). Now.... she can't do it either. It is scary, it is like being paralyzed in the feet. Sorry to hear you are in a wheelchair. How long did you have symptoms before you could not walk??? Did you use a cane for a time before the chair?? If you feel like sharing, I am here to listen and correspond. Again, thanks for the comeback. Guest guest
Hi, I get the same feeling especially on left calf and foot. I hate that bunched sock feeling. I find that when I get a really good nights sleep that the foot feels close to normal. Also my legs feel less heavy. I also started using a circulation brush on my legs and feet every morning and night. I think it also helps. Ben
Guest guest
Hi to Ben and Group....... I agree with you, Ben. If I get a good nights sleep then the numbness & tingling etc are less severe. I notice that when it is a weekend and I can sleep an hour or so longer then it helps also. I will have to try circulation brush. That seems like a good idea. I think sitting here at the computer doesn't do much for my legs and the nerves and the circulation either, but I can't go out walking very much, and I can't stand because of balance, so here I sit - doing the computer thing and watching TV at the same time. Hope everyone had a nice day today. It was beautiful here in eastern Pennsylvania. June
