Guest guest
This is a reply I received in response to a question about their "it will be figured out when the panel gets together" statement. Sunny ;'-))) Sunny: It is always wise to be cautious. However, Measure 23 has for years had "alternative practioners" deeply involved in the effort and it seems clear that the whole program resonates with a commitment to provide such care to those who wish it. We who back this single-payer idea are not in it for the money, as if we were a for-profit insurance company that knows how to pick on the weaker ones out there. I find it ironic that having gone ahead and specifically included " altternative praactioners," to the chagrin of organized medicine and to our own loss of a potent backer, that those whom we have so dignified and included feel threatened by Measure 23. Our group is not the one disposed to victimize chiros or others. Is there another, better altertantive on the horizon for chiros and patients of all sorts? I think not. I am forwarding this response to others in our group who may be able to offer a better perspective than mine. Sincerely, Gerald cavanaugh Skrndc@... wrote: Dear Mr. Cavanaugh, This repeated reply of "...hundreds of issues...will be addressed by the Board of Directors as they develop the administrative rules for the Plan" is what causes us DCs to be wary of Measure 23. Collectively we have thousands of patients that go without care or have to be turned away from our doors because the insurances and other health care systems say they cover chiropractic services when their coverage is in name only. And yes, we have people on the various boards who are repeatedly rendered impotent. The only way we are finding that we can improve ourselves is to work with legislation and SPELL IT OUT . That appears to be the ONLY way the health care mechanisms open their doors to our patients and our doctors. Without it being on paper from in front, history tells us that it will take us (literally) decades to have our patients included in the levels of care they need. That is why we are nervous and wary of your statements. Sunny Kierstyn, RN, DC, Eugene, Oregon

Guest guest
Just a quick note, these email are usually hoaxes. Check the website of your antivirus for verification. If you dont have virus protection, or dont like their site, go to google.com, and type int he vuris name,. You will usually find a list of sites, and can figure out whether or not they are hoaxes. The only thing that these emails do is pass yours, and your friends email address along to other people. That is how some people get their mailing lists for XXX sites etc. If you want to send these emails to people, BCC ( blind carbon copy) your email to everyone. On Netscape you can change the to: by left clicking in the window where you write their name (email address), and a drop down menu appears-click on bcc. If you bcc an email no-one else can see who you send it to. If your mail program requires you to have at least one email address marked to: then send it to yourself, and bcc it to everyone else. loree wrote: >Thought this was important to share. Guest guest
Chiropractic physicians are specifically excluded in Oregon law as per being able to have a patient lien...something my friend Dr. DeShaw attempted to change this session....and that which we will attempt to change next session. The Gatti group...specifically another friend Mr. Mike Attorney At Law put a very powerful assignment letter together wherein the patient is assigning a portion of his/her legal rights over to you the provider. How I recall the document amounts to a contract with the guts of the document clearly having the patient instructing the attorney to pay your bill prior to dispersing any funds to the patient. Once signed by the attorney you need to Fax it, mailed (reg), and registered mail it with a signed return receipt to the attorney involved. Also give them a cover letter giving them a one page heads up as per this is your patient, this is their problem, and here is the document they signed. This allows you to go after the attorney if at time of settlement he/she fails to pay any outstanding bills prior to dispersing funds to your patient whom now lives in Brazil! Vern Saboe, DC Albany PS: Shirley who??? (no subject) I am filling and recording a physician's lien in order to get paid for care given a patient hit by an auto.
