Question about Houseshoes

Hello all,

Like most CMT patients, I have alot of foot pain when walking without

shoes. I only go without shoes around the house, but since my

kitchen and dining room are not carpeted I experience foot pain when

walking in those areas. I think properly fitting houseshoes would

alleviate my problem.

I have tried numerous houseshoes, but I can't wear ones that don't

have a back (they just fall off). And like most shoes I've seen,

houseshoes under size 6 1/2 are very hard to find. So what I'm

hoping to find is some type of houseshoe or even mocassin-type shoe

that laces up (or even uses velcro) and is very padded (preferably

without a hard sole). I am looking for something that basically just

provides alot of thick soft padding that will stay on my foot for me

to wear around they house. Does anyone know of any type of shoes

that may fit this description?

I have heard about Uggs (mentioned in this forum), but I haven't been

able to find any that they make in my size (about 5 1/2 to 6 1/2).

I have even thought about a custom made shoe made out of sheepskin or

some sort of durable thick padding. I don't think it would be that

hard to make (if the shoe person has the big sewing machine) because

mainly I am concerned with the padding and fit. I wouldn't be too

concerned with appearance. Does anyone have any thoughts or ideas?

Any thoughts on this subject are greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Rob
