They may be ok but may take a few milk changes before they re-balance. I always

ship them in some fresh milk, and have gotten feedback that they have always

started making good kefir right away. If your friend has problems with them

after a few milk changes, try shipping more grains, but ship them with some

fresh milk in the bag. Upon receipt your friend should strain off the shipping

milk and add fresh asap. Cheers,
