Guest guest
My new grains also did that recently. They became one big clump following a rapid ferment in which the grains " dried out " and clumped together. That day they also grew to double and I had a thick blob that had to be cut up to get it out of the jar. So this is probably why the rapid ferment happened. I had to cut that blob apart to strain the milk and I also watched closely to see if it would hurt that I did that. But it didn't. The grains have gotten a recovered look about them. And the kefir has always tasted good and fermented fully, so don't be worried. Kefir grains are tougher than we think. Lyn ----- Original Message ----- From: " lucchene " <lchene@...> I have gotten new grains last September and they are growing fast. But for the last week, they have become all clumped together. They keep growing, but if I want to remove some of the grains, I have to cut some off the clump. The Kefir tastes good, but I am worried about that change.
