Darlene,

How do you consume your whey? Do you flavor it somehow or mix it in with

something else? Sweeten it or what?

As far as cholesterol and fat in your diet, you don't need to be afraid of fat

as it is food for your brain. Our brains are made up mostly of fat and when you

are eating get a low fat diet, you are depriving your brain of much needed food.

Cholesterol is also extremely important to a lot of different processes in the

body.

Here is a quote from the next article... " Coconut oil is considered one of the

best fuels for healthy brain function. Outside of mother's milk, coconut oil is

nature's richest source of medium chain triglycerides (MCTs). Medium chain

triglycerides (MCT) are not processed by your body in the same manner as long

chain triglycerides. Normal fat metabolism depends on bile salts that have been

released from your gallbladder before it can be broken down in your digestive

system. "

Draining whey off top of kefir

I drain the settled whey off the top of the kefir after I refrigerate the kefir

because I like the taste and consistency better. Does anyone know if this

affects the probiotic benefits of the kefir? Jackie

I did that once and it was oh so creamy good. But I wanted the whey for my

beans. Maybe I will do that in the future, and drink the whey separately as it

is so good for you. We routinely do smoothies and I add a touch of kefir to it.

But you always need more liquid, so the extra whey could be used for that too.
