Ah, but then you're not feeding the " whole " food. We should eat the complete

food in it's natural state when we can for the greatest health benefit. It is

when we start picking things apart that we become nutritionally imbalanced.

With the eggs, I also peel the membrane out of the shell. Instead of feeding

the shell, I include ground eggshell if I need to add calcium to the meal. I

don't feed the shell because I'm afraid of how sharp they are going down and I

don't know about bio-availability of the whole shell.

For dogs or chickens? I crush up the shells and feed them back to my chickens

by scattering them around the yard. I also, if necessary grind it up to a

powder in my vitamix and add it to the DE and mush for them. The bigger shells

take longer to absorb calcium and the powder releases the calcium right away.
