I think I killed my kefir grains

I've been happily making my kefir since last June. But, the last few batches

have tasted very bad, like sour milk and it doesn't seem to be forming kefir at

all. I let a batch right before this sit for way too long (4 days) because I had

a lot going on, and I think I starved them. :(

Anyone have some kefir grains around the Chicago area? I miss my kefir, and

wanted to check before having to order more and wait.
