Patty,

Have you tried different things to flavor the kombucha so that you and your

children might like it? I've had so many different kinds of kombucha and they're

all so unique in flavoring.

As for the kefir - water and milk are completely different. I would have to say

that in my experience, if you don't enjoy kombucha you'll probably not enjoy

water or milk kefir either as it has that slightly yeasty fermented flavor as

well.

My kombucha tastes like drinking straight vinegar. I've seasoned with ginger,

but still....I don't taste a yeasty taste. I've bought it bottled also, at

health food stores and same thing as home made. Is there some way it doesn't

burn so badly?? My whole body shivers when I drink it!

The kefir I've had was from Life Way. Store bought... and I like it a

lot-similar to yogurt, but more yeasty tasting. I realize homemade would be

different.

Yes, I do like the results I get from Kombucha, but if I can get similar results

from Kefir, I'm all for it!

Have you tried adding juice to your kombucha for a second ferment? Also, if it

tastes like strong vinegar sounds like you're letting it ferment quite long.

Store bought kefir tastes absolutely NOTHING like homemade kefir. It also

doesn't have anywhere near the amount of probiotics either.

Good Luck!
