Hello everyone, I am new to the forums and have a question.

I have been putting my new batches of Kefir with my left over batches from the

day prior. Is this ok?

I make both milk and water kefir with grains and they both are doing very well.

With the milk I do not change anything for each batch. And I always have a

little left in my milk kefir drinking container when I add a new batch. For

water, I have recently split up my grains to two separate containers because I

have so much. In these two separate containers I may use raisons in one and a

date in another. When both are done I may mix them when pouring into my drinking

containers. Is this bad? I figure its ok since the grains themselves are the

same.

Also, I dried some milk and water grains right next two each other. Is there an

issue with cross contamination that I should be concerned about? I keep each

separate in a little cheese cloth baggie. Can I put both bags of grains in a jar

for long term storage without worry of cross contamination?

Mark M.
