Guest guest
Hi Martha...I use 1/3 cup white sugar to one quart of spring water...and like you, mine also are growing like crazy. We have our A/C on full time, and I do keep my jar in the cupboard....if I wasn't going away in a while for two weeks I would pass them around my family...when I come back from holidays will do that for sure. I may be using too much as my grains are growing like mad. I'd also like to take this time to thank Marilyn for supplying such great products! Both milk and water kefir grains were purchased from her and they are awesome! Sooooo, Thanks Marilyn! Martha
Guest guest
Do the water kefir grains turn the sugar into something else or is water kefir always going to have a lot of sugar in it even when it's ready to drink? Guest guest
The sugar does get used up and you can tell by taste. Depending on the condition of your water grains I believe that the sugar reformats itself into water grains which is how some water grains can produce 120% increase in 48 hours.
