Guest guest Posted March 27, 2012 Report Share Posted March 27, 2012 Hi , I'm not sure if you can go by the calories on the label for whole milk because the local organic farmers would feed their cows differently than the factory farms feeding their cows anything and everything as long as it's organic regardless of nutrition. Cows were created by God to eat grass only nothing else. I hope this helps. Al Kefir Calories I have wondered for a few years now about calories in Kefir. Because the commercial brands have always been lowfat, and I use whole milk for my kefir, I couldn't estimate calories properly. Today I looked again and found that Lifeway has a whole milk kefir product so I was able to get calorie information from that. I'm pretty sure Lifeway does not use live grains, but it is at least closer to estimate using the nutrition data on their label than yogurt, which is what I had been doing before.
