Guest guest
I got so many grains from Dar a couple weeks ago, that I'm experimenting in small batches. The rest, about a 1/4 cup, of my grains are in the fridge, soaking in 4 cups of water, 1/4 cup unbleached sugar and a couple grinds of sea salt for minerals. 1 cup organic lemonade straight from the bottle, 1 spoonful of water grains and leave it on the counter. keep tasting it until it's just right. 2 cups organic 100% apple juice straight from the bottle, one drop of unsulfured molasses (like 1/8 teaspoon), 2 spoonfuls of water grains and leave it on the counter. keep tasting. One batch I left on the counter for a day then into the fridge for 3 more days while we went camping. It tasted very alcoholic and was delicious and quite relaxing. I'm looking forward to trying raspberry, pomegranate, or cherry juice. The water kefir grains give off carbon dioxide, that's the bubbles. Sometimes a little CO2 bubble gets caught on a grain and they float up and down until they shake it off. My jars get fizzy like fresh soda, even with a loose lid. What have you tried? What is your favorite? == Hi , Can you tell me where you got the recipes for the different water kefirs you have made? the 36 hour lemonade, 48+ hour and 24 hour apple juice, etc... Was it Dom's or? Thanks! Wolf == <jennifermarkestad@...> wrote: > > > > Dar's are nice, big and give a really great flavor. My son likes to watch > > them bubble up and down in the jar. Guest guest
Mine do too. In fact I watch them sometimes when I do dishes. They actually float up and down. Â Mne are multiplying but not all that big.How do I get them to grow larger? Any clues? I've been using Turbinado and also Raw Cane Sugar. I've been putting a white peach tea bag in with them could that be hurting them? What does it mean when they do this? Thanks, Jimi > > > ** > > > > > > Oh thanks, Cyndi, for letting me know. > > > > LOL!
