Guest guest
Hi Larry.......and am very new to this, but this is how I understand it.... The water kefir grains feed off the sugar and creates a carbonated lacto-fermented drink. The resulting water is sweet, but shouldn't have the actual sugar in it. It does have a unique pleasant taste, and can even be flavoured to your liking after the first brew, and you can easily make it into a soda. Basically a non-dairy alternative to milk kefir. When I'm home I drink an 8 oz glass with every meal....I have Crohn's Disease, with Short Gut Syndrome...and I truly believe my water kefir has definitely helped with my digestion with my shorter digestive tract. Hope I explained it correctly. Subject: Re: Water Kefir/Sugar Do the water kefir grains turn the sugar into something else or is water kefir always going to have a lot of sugar in it even when it's ready to drink?
