Guest guest
Yes and we create summer year round with our heated houses and imported foods that should only be eaten in long light, warm conditions. We are missing the cold in our lifestyles causing our modern diseases. The paleo diet can only go so far when you leave out winter. I've been reading Jack Kruse's blog for over three weeks now and I believe he should get a Nobel Prize for what he has discovered. Trouble is, there is no money in his program. Ice is cheap. Just reread #6 which is a good introduction to what happens when you add a cold environment to your lifestyle. You become optimal. Most of us don't have a clue what optimal is. We are still struggling with this and that health issue. Including me. http://jackkruse.com/cold-thermogenesis-6-the-ancient-pathway/ My question is, should one drink kefir in the winter based on the teaching of Jack Kruse? Has anyone here read all of his stuff yet? Guest guest
Marilyn, I'm sure this should go to the Off-Topic group, but you included your thoughts here. According to anthropologists, historians, etc. mankind developed in Africa, and migrated from there. Not a lot of winter in Africa, nor in the Fertile Crescent, Egypt, India or other cradles of civilization. Anyway, some people believe in a totally raw diet, cold showers and sleeping outdoors in winter, and it works for them. Others go for lots of meat and fish and hot yoga and saunas year round, and others are vegan. Is there a right answer that fits all people? I personally love water kefir, but mainly feed my milk kefir to our dog, and my husband can't be bothered with either kefir enough to ask for it. He was a smoker and drinker, which I never was, but at 80 has a better digestive system than I do. And he doesn't wear glasses, not even for reading. My point is that we are all individuals, and (mainly for Al) what might be the perfect solution for one person wouldn't be for others. Perhaps the best we can hope for is to become experts on what works best for us individually. I'm healthier now than I ever was when I was drinking organic raw milk, eating free-range organic eggs, and sleeping cold every night in winter growing up, but I couldn't pinpoint what has made the difference. Marilyn, I appreciate you filtering what is discussed in this group and that you are willing to share not only your own views but those of others. Please keep up the good work. in Oregon  ________________________________ From: Marilyn Kefirlady <marilynjarz@...> Yes and we create summer year round with our heated houses and imported foods that should only be eaten in long light, warm conditions.
