His address is: k8ib@... His name is Terry. Tell him Jackie gave you his address and I am sure he will help you if he can. Jackie
Guest guest
The OC Foundation does not, as I recall, actually recommend the therapists on its list. Are they not self-referred? That is, can't they get on the list simply by claiming that they treat OCD? When we moved to County, land, we were looking for an OCD therapist and tried one that insisted he would not believe Dan had OCD even though he had been diagnosed and treated for it for a year by a child psychiatrist, that he would have to determine for himself that the diagnosis was correct, and that this would take several sessions. He made it very clear that he personally thought the more likely cause was a toxic maternal parent. Needless to say, that was our only contact with him other than the bills he kept sending for his services. I thought we had gotten him off the OC Foundation list, but maybe not. I know our insurance listed him as an OCD therapist, and that was definitely self-referral on his part. I wish there were a mechanism for us to give feedback on the therapists on the OC Foundation list, much like the Better Business Bureau or the internet bidding sites. That way we could avoid wasting time and money on the really ineffective (or worse) ones and find the effective ones more efficiently. Judy in Baltimore Re: Help Welcome Sal, falzone2@... The most efficient source for finding a therapist experienced indealing with OCD is through the Obessive-Compulsive Foundationwww.ocfoundation.org If you go to our FILES, on the webpage, you willfind several interesting articles to help you determine what you arelooking for in a therapist. Guest guest
Debra, Which products are we talking about? I make my body cream, my lip balms, salt glow & sugar scrub and bath salts. I buy my body spray, lotion base, and shower gel. I get the shower gel from www.herbalaccents.com and my lotion base and body spray from www.craftexpress.com. Oh, I also get a bubble bath from craft express. I would like to start making my own lotion base but i cant beat craftexpress's prices and i need that low price to compete with discount stores and bath and body works. My cream is already way higher that B & BW. I know a homemade product is better, but most people dont know the difference between a mineral oil based koition and one that is almond oil based! katherine On Mon, 22 Oct 2001 10:32:24 EDT, wrote: > , > I read that you use already made products do you sell your products and could > you gave me some pointer on how to use them. > Thanks > Debra > > >
Guest guest
, do you put any additives into your lotion base? When I question Craftexpress about it, I get very vague answers about what I can do to make it better. I don't sell it, just use it for family and friend gifts but I would like to add some nicer oils to it but I can never get a definite answer as to what and how much. Guest guest
I just contacted craft express about his as i had 5 gallon bucket lotion mod after 3 months. Obviously i dont use it fast enough. They said most people use 5 gallon bucket in 1 month. They is antimicrobil as a preservative and they said if they add more that the lotion will foam up when go to you wash your hands. They also told me that hey are no longer carrying lotion or gel base in anything smaller thatn the 5 gallon quantity, so i will have to find another supplier anyway! RATS!! I think i might experiment and jsut make my own even if it costs more. SOme people like to buy products for the simple fact that theyare homemade and are willing ot pay more for such a product. Hopefully. I use a product from www.herbalaccents.com in the base that i make myself. It is vitamen E with D-alpha, TOCOPHEROL,axcorbic acid, ascorbyl palmitate, polyethylene glycol. Yes, synthetics, but it works great. Hope this helps katherine On Tue, 23 Oct 2001 09:15:18 -0400, wrote: > , do you put any additives into your lotion base? I honestly don't know, since i'm not the Zapee around here. My husband is a very weird man, when it comes to this. He got wrongfully zapped by his ICD twice. (the dr. fixed that.) But he could tell when it was coming.... he said he felt it 'spooling up' to discharge. He had no fear, was just interested in what was going on. Said it didn't hurt. Doesn't much care if it happens again. He IS very weird, as i told ya.... Me.... i'd be freaking out, feeling it coming. HE'S nutz.... you are not. All i can tell ya is that i do understand, and am sending healing and peaceful energy to you. The rest of the good folks on this list will give you better support. I'm only here to send vibes, and learn things. Hope the vibes help. Sue
Guest guest
Hi Phyllis, I am so sorry to hear your news, It is fresh and it is painful and it is VERY scary!!!! But, YOU will get past this! The best advice I can give you is to attack the reasoning behind why you got zapped. What were you doing? Was it something you ate? Was is something you drank? Were you hydrated? Did you take your meds on time? Where you exercising or thinking about something that would cause an adrenaline rush? Were you overly full? Or did you eat something overly sweet? I could go on here, but what I am trying to get at is for you to focus on the things that you may have done to bring a run of arrhythmia on? When was the last time you were interrogated? Have you been stable and now out of the blue, ZAP? Or have you felt a lot of PVC's recently? Did you call the doc? Getting shocked leaves us feeling completely out of control and then we focus on being out of control and our thoughts become irrational - fear in and of itself is irrational. What I want to encourage you with is to focus on that which you CAN control. Attack it head on and say, " I'm not going to let you get me! " That will help to get your confidence back and allow you to heal. I am sorry for you - we all are. We wish none of us had to go through this - but alas we do. But if we can draw strength from each other, then we can have the hope that normal is just around the corner - and it is! (Smile!) Thanks for letting us in, and if you don't mind, I will be praying for you these next few days - till the worst is over... Hang in there, Phyllis! Guest guest
Dear Phyllis: I am still cautious every time I leave the house or am alone in the house. Silly me even gets nervous of using the same 'phone' that I was zapped while using. I try to logic it out. As for traveling, well I make sure I have the phone number and addy of a EP where I am going. My hubby is trained in CPR now and I go only with him. The movies do scare me. It is the 'what if's' that are paralyzing. Time is the fixer of this. My shocks hurt and so I do anything I can to try and prevent them, at least in my mind. I guess what I'm trying to say very sloppily, is that, You are wonderful and have been kept here for a higher purpose and you are not alone. Thank you for making me feel I am not alone. Guest guest
Phyllis: I am not sure that this is of any help to others, byut it works for me. It's been over a year since my only zxapping incident (3 zaps ina very, very short period), but i remember them well. here' how I deal with the ever present possibility of them: 1. I remember very specifdically what they felt like and how they affected me at the moment. if I were to expect one in the next minute or so, I can clearly pciture what would occur and how I would respond. That knowledge is a lot better than not knowing. 2. I have discussed with my cardio what are the key questions I should ask and answer if I am zapped so that i know whether or not the zap was serious enough to reqyuire immediate medical care or it can wait a short time (hours not days). 3. I make sure that those close to me know what to do if I am zapped. 4. I constantly remind myself that I cannot control being zapped (other than by not doing stupid things) and refuse to let this mechanical insurance policy run my life. 5. I enjoy life when and where I can and tell the Grim Reaper to go reap himself. Best. Bill ----- Original Message ----- From: pschatsky@... For those who remember I was the one who was afraod to go to the Carribean with my ffamily, I got such great suport that I was going to go and not be afraid. I then decided that I really did not want to go so I opted to stay home and let my family go without me. Well, I guess that was lucky because I was zapped three times this week while they were away.. three incidents without a zapping and three incidents with a zap, a real good one at that. The help I am asking for is what do you do with that fear, the fear of being alone, the fear of night and the fear of going away even if it is to another state. The fear is being zapped again. That feeling stays and is hard to get rid of, I just came back from the movies and I was distracated with the thought "what happens if it goes off here""I feel a little dizzy here it comes" etc. etc. Please share with my you feelings, how nuts am I and if I am not nuts how do you handle it. Thank you all, for you support in the past Phyllis
Guest guest
I've used cornstarch, baking soda, powered lavender and rosemary. Just added drops of e/os and sifted everything. Didn't use a recipe, just trial and error. So the first ones had way too much powered lav and rosemary wouldn't come out of the little shaker holes. I found some very pretty brushed tin shakers. There's some plastic ones at fromnaturewithlove.com. Guest guest
Hi! OUr daughter, Kara, age 10 (PDD-NOS) use to get up at those hours, too. I don't know how your daughter is, but make sure you have very dark blinds or curtains on her windows. We noticed in the summer that she got up earlier because of the light(not that means anything at 3 or 5am!) We convinced her to go back to bed most mornings (she still does this occasionally). When she was younger and safety was an issue, her room had the lock on the outside of her door. She would get up and play for an hour or two and then go back to sleep most days. She was contained to her room. It's very frustrating I know. Even now when she gets up at 6 am some weekend mornings, she is exhausted by 1 pm and we have planned to do the zoo, museum, etc. and she's too tired. Another suggestion is music playing and her going back to bed or " resting " for awhile. We knew Kara just thought it was time to get up, so we'd show the moon or whatever and talk about nighttime. I hope something will help and Good Luck!! Carolyn K. (NJ)
