Guest guest
Hi Gerry, SNIP I have no personal experience of drug use (illegal other than for doctors in the Republic of Ireland) but I have heard it said that since chest pain can lead to breathing problems a reduction in pain is a good idea. So, noting that morphine can reduce pain as well as affect breathing but the effects of morphine can be reversed by (sp?) (narcan) it was suggested as being worth trying morphine if the patient can be monitored and naloxone used to reverse the problem if complications arise. SNIP My only concern with giving an opiate and then reversing with Narcan is how do I know if his resps are detiorating because of the pain or because of the opiate? Hence I would be cautious in using any kind of pain relief that would affect the chest. Does anybody know of an alternative? Best wishes Ian ********************************************************** Ian Sharpe Medic / Dive Medic Ian@... IanSharpe@...
