South India AIDS Action Programme (Siaap) has vacancies for Senior staff in its

HIV & AIDS Prevention & Care project. The following positions are available:

1. Position Name: Project Manager

Duty Station: Chennai

Duration 3 / 4 years

Major Responsibilities:

To coordinate a community based HIV & AIDS prevention program located in 6

centers in South India. Key areas to cover are strategic planning,

implementation of programmes, budgeting, monitoring and evaluation, research and

data analysis towards achieving the programme goals.

Minimum Qualifications & Experience required:

· Advanced University degree in Management, Psychology, Sociology, Law,

Development Studies

· Four to five years progressively responsible professional work experience in

health & development related programming, research, implementation and

evaluation

· Demonstrated ability in development and production of programme proposals,

documents, training plans, materials, etc.

· Experience in the field of gender & reproductive health. Specialisation in

one or more of the following major fields is an asset:

o HIV & AIDS

o Policy analysis & Planning

o Curriculum development & training

o Research, monitoring and evaluation skills.

o Communication and training skills.

Excellent ability to write clearly and concisely in English

o Ability to research, analyse, evaluate and synthesize information

o Knowledge and use of standard office automation applications related to word

processing, graphics presentations etc., as well as Management Information

Systems and database.

o Fluency in English and Tamil, Knowledge of Hindi desirable.

o Knowledge and training on use of work planning tools an asset.

o Ability to work in an international and multicultural environment. Proven

ability to work as part of a team.

2. Position: Counselling Supervisors 2

Responsibilities: To provide professional support to counsellors in Tamil Nadu.

Minimum qualification & experience:

.. Masters degree in Psychology/ Sociology/ Social work or related discipline

..Proven track record of Counselling experience

..Liaison & advocacy with Senior Government authorities at district level.

..Willing to travel 12 days a month out of Chennai.

..Communication and training skills

..Excellent ability to write clearly and concisely in English

..Ability to research, analyse, evaluate and synthesize information

..Knowledge and use of standard office automation applications related to word

processing, graphics presentations etc., as well as Management Information

Systems and database

..Fluency in English and Tamil, Knowledge of Hindi desirable

3.Position: Trainers 2

Responsibilities: Curriculum development & participatory training in counselling

Minimum qualification & experience:

.. Masters degree in Psychology/ Sociology/ Social work.

.. 3 to 4 years experience in participatory training methodology.

.. Experience in the field of Counselling, gender, reproductive health,

sex & sexuality.

.. Good communication & training skills.

.. Fluency in English, Tamil and one other South Indian language.

.. Willing to travel.

4.Position Counsellors 2

Minimum qualification & experience:

.. Masters degree in Psychology/ Sociology/ Social work

.. 3 to 4 years of counselling experience.

.. Ability to write case studies and maintain records.

.. Fluency in English and Tamil.
