Congress Acts on CMT Research

Hi ,

Good questions. The amount of funding has yet to be determined; the

House has just acted, now the Senate needs to get on board and then both

will make suggestions for appropriations to the NIH. The funds will go

for research to find arrestment for CMT - since there are 44 types of

CMT, with 1A being the most common, I am guessing research will start

there and proceed for other types. No, the monies appropriated for the

NIH will be strictly for CMT research - not for promotional awareness,

and the NIH will be accountable to Congress for its research progress.
