Guest guest
Happy Birthday ! Gretchen, I have to thank you again and again for creating this list. Thank you for all the time and research you put into this list. You have made it the most positive, informative CMT group that there is. I never would have known about the Vitamin C if it were not for your research. Your great ideas/creativity and compassion always amazes me. I am very greatful to have met you and to call you my friend. Thank you so very much
Guest guest
Dear ers, Happy 6th Birthday to all at , today, September 21, 2004! We've come along way - on this date last year our membership was 823 spanning 27 countries. Now I see we are in four digits plus - 1,023 members from 29 countries. Our global village keeps expanding and gets more interesting with each day. This year I will remember the most because of the October NT-3 research breakthrough for CMT 1A and the good news about Vitamin C that followed in April. More polls and a fast-link (http://hope.info) were positive additions to our community as well as our CMT Children's Awareness Campaign. I started for three reasons on September 21, 1999: 1) I found a lack of 'experiential' sharing among CMT users on two former lists 2) I found a lack of upbeat and positive thought among CMT persons, and 3) I felt current world research could be disseminated faster to CMT persons via email. The " if you build it, they will come " school of ideas was knocking at my door. and I were the first members. Then came , Rick, Heidi and everyone else! I chose egroups (still onelist.com at that time) to be the vehicle I would use to connect these three 'niches' and hopefully bring many CMT persons together throughout the globe via email discussions. We were onelist first. We then became egroups after the onelist merger. Then purchased egroups and here we are at . And still going strong at / Through our discussions, I have learned a great deal about the nature of CMT and have made some wonderful, trusted friends. So, once again, may I extend 6th birthday wishes and to all of you who share your lives so graciously. Keep coming back! There is so much more to come! And thanks to all for letting me be of service. Sincerely your Founder and Moderator, Gretchen Glick
Guest guest
Gretchen, I just want to thank you, thank you, thank you from the bottom of my heart for all the effort you have put forth. The world is full of problems, shy of problem solvers. Thank you again for your efforts in this area, which is below the radar of most well-wishing groups. Your informative posts are really helpful. However you find the time to do this, thanks again. Jack
Guest guest
Hi Gretchen: Thank you for starting this CMT group, and your constant dedication to all of us. The tireless effort you put into gathering and sharing so much beneficial information and research projects is truly appreciated. I believe we are all blessed to have such a dedicated moderator. I also appreciate all the input from our group members. To me the last year was very difficult due to the increased pain associated with CMT, along with the deterioration of my strength. HOWEVER, the last year also gave me so many positive energy from the group, and hope with all the positive research projects. It is also gratifying to know that I am no longer alone in this disease too. Thanks again for everything you do for me, and the group. Kindest regards, Beckingham Corporate Nice Guy
Guest guest
I too am so happy the group found me! For the first time in 20 some years, i do not feel alone anymore and boy am i getting a FAST education. Thanks for all the support and information. I am interested in starting some fund raising activities in the Baltimore area and wanted to know which way would be the best to allocate the funds. Should I look into donating to the NIH program or what other CMT avenue would be best to send funds to so I know it is going strictly for CMT. If i do it through MDA, then it goes into the vast MDA fund. Any suggestions? Jackie
