I went thru three neurologists before I was diagnosed as CMT Type 2. The first

neurologists had almost given up when she suggested a muscle biopsy. Since she

seemed uncertain, I asked for a second doctors opinion. The second doctor

thought I was having a nerve problem and that a muscle biopsy was unnecessary.

The third doctor diagnosed me with CMT and said that a muscle biopsy would have

been inappropriate and not shown any more. Since I don't know your

daughters situation I can only tell you about my own experience. I am glad that

I did not have a muscle biopsy.
