Guest guest
Probably, no immediate effects will be visible. However, they may not be good in the long run. Alcohol is in the list of drugs which are not good for CMTers. Sameer
Guest guest
I don't want to give the impression that I drink a lot, but alcohol does calm familial tremor, and of course the caffeine in coffee makes it worse. I drink decaf and have a high ball or glass of wine on occasion. I know many CMTers have tremor, so I just thought share some info. K. Guest guest
Hi Gregor, I drinik wine and seriously of course alcohol relaxes anyone, but I believe whatever works for someone is fine. What bother's me is one day they say take aspirin, the next month (oh no aspirin is no good) same thing with coffee, some vitamins, etc..and I reallu LOVE those commercials that say take so and so...then after that they throw in (oh yeah, it can cause high blood pressure, diarhhea, blod clots...you get my drift!! I say whatever your body craves, I take it..wheather it would be chocolate coffee...Right now I've got to pack a hurricane is coming to the keys and it's going to be a good one!! I've lived here for 27 years and this one scares me..wish me luck!!
Guest guest
Gregor, I am my father's genetic duplicate, including the CMT. He did not drink at all and I drink some--a drink, only one, almost daily. I enjoy unwinding after work with a glass of wine, a beer, or a gin martini, while sitting on my deck, watching the birds, and breathing fresh air. At my age my father was in worse shape than me because he smoked heavily, was obese, had a bad attitude, and sat in the house bitching and moaning about his life. I quit smoking 30 years ago at age 28, I exercise, eat sensibly most of the time, and I love life. I am looking at foot surgery next year, but, all things considered, I am doing great. So, the moral of the story--alcohol won't hurt you if used in moderation, in concert with other healthy habits. Cheers. Tom
