Guest guest
For those list members that are not Registered Nurses I think that you should seriously consider Paramedic Registration. Registration with a State Registered and recognised body can only raise the professional profile of the ofsshore medic. If you are BAEMT members you may be interested in the following note taken from the June newsletter :- Council for Professions Supplementary to Medicine Paramedics Board The Paramedics Board of the CPSM, which has been established to deal with the State registration of Ambulance Paramedics, has asked the Registrar to join the committee. The chair of the board Mr Ken Wenman feels that it is important to have the Non-IHCD Paramedic represented and heard. The board has specific responsibility for the criteria of entry and its effectiveness. It is felt that the association will be able to offer expertise to the commitee and ensure that the voice of the non IHCD Paramedic is heard. I will be contacting the CPSM in order to obtain a 'registration pack', I'll keep you posted ............. For anyone working onshore in a remote location - I recently did my PALS course at Madingley Hall in Cambs. I would highly recommend the course. A totally new subject for me that I found extremely interesting. Also plenty of female paediactric junior SHO's !! Anyone want's any info let me know. Guest guest
Tim. Where do you send for the registration packs ? A contact for CPSM would be gratefully received. And is it necesary to be with BAEMT? I used to be an EMT-P with them but did not renew. The BASICS courses are all very good. They used to run them in Scotland, but we seem to be ignored now. Combined with transport costs from up north, Madingly hall is a bit expensive. Still if the female SHO's are that nice........ It look like PHTLS/BTLS are not run up here either. This only leaves the courses run by my colleagues and I. For info www.madasafish.com/~davygunn Gunn, Glencoe, Scotland 10/06/00 18:24:38 GMT Daylight Time e-mail address:davygunn@...
