Hi -

I have found a brand of shoes called Drew shoes. They are terrific

and offer a lot of support. I wear AFOs on both legs and I have to

get an extra depth shoe with what is called a wider " last " so that

the part under the ball of my foot where the AFO ends doesn't get

cramped. There are several styles that I have found work well with

dress pants... There are some styles that would work better with a

dress although I haven't seen any in a " last " that would work for

me. For me, the best thing about these shoes... is aside from some

inital " wearing in " of the big toe area on the padding underneath the

toe... I can put them on and just wear them... no break in period.

Also I find that my back does not get sore when I wear these shoes as

they offer a great deal of support. I have finally " caved " to the

notion that I won't be in high heels anytime soon. If you look for

Drew shoes online you may only see a limited selection at any one

store... Best to go to someone that makes orthotics or a medical

supply store where they can get the proper measurements and have a

catalog with all the styles.

I also have New Balance sneakers which when I found them I thought

was a dream come true!!! They have wide sizes and if you chat with

the sales folks at New Balance they know which models have a

wide " toe box " .

Best of luck -

Cheryl
