Guest guest
, Interesting that you take Ritalin now. During my high school years in the 1960's, I was given Ritalin to help me with fatigue. No one had any idea IF it would work or HOW, or the long term effects. Ritalin worked well for about 5 years. Usually I only needed one 5mg tablet a day (about 2 pm). It did help with fatigue and extended my day. Befor high school dates, nightime dances, parties, games, etc., I was prescribed another 5 mg. This allowed me to continue to have a regular life and schedule with my friends, etc. When I was 19, something happened - biochemically, and I still don't have the words to describe it, but in other words I waas so wired I couldn't come down - just from taking prescription Ritalin those 5 years. I have often discussed my chronic insomnia with medical professionals who validate that it might have been the Ritalin all those years. While I require good sleep, I have to force myself to get it. For the last 25 years I have paid strict attention to what I take and when, what it is for, even Vitamin prescriptions. And I take the least amount of anything that I have to. I had no idea Ritalin was still being given to CMT persons. Gretchen
