Has anyone ever used or heard of the drug Thiotacid? My neurologist

recommendedit as a possiblity for helping with 'tingling' I'm having.

I live in Egypt. It's not USFDA approved, but is made and approved in

Germany for various kinds of neuropathy. My neurologist is

US trained and well regarded, but I'm not crazy about taking drugs

that I don't know much about. Thanks, Robyn

Robyn,

Yes, I am aware of it, have heard of it. Studies go back into the '90s.

It seems to be an anticoagulant and also acts as an antiflammatory. I

read and write German and might be able to come up with more info when I

am free. Let me know. It is sulfur based.

Perhaps your neurologist/ or even your chemist/pharmacist can give you

some more information about in - in your own language. I have found

chemists/pharmacists even more knowledgeable about medications than

doctors.

Thanks for the response. If you can read German, please do check it

out and let me know what you find. Are you referring to CMT related

studies, or studies about something else?

I live in Egypt; the pharmacists aren't very knowledgable and it

doesn't seem that even neurologists have much of an idea what CMT is.

Robyn *** OK I will look for you. The studies I was referring to were not CMT

related. Have found nothing so far that is even close to being CMT related,

unless it is the use of Thiotacid as anti-inflammatory. Does your doc want to

give this to you for pain, or burning, or fatigue or what? - GG
