Guest guest
Political motivations direct the flow of funding- PEPFAR Dear Gaurav Chaturvedi and All, As a former student in International Health at Boston Unviersity SPH, I might have the experience to tell you that however experienced and qualified the professor may be, it is the responsibility of the individual student to explore and rationalise any idea or thought. To put it succintly, instead of swallowing what your professor has told you and conveniently blaming the Indian government, it is your responsibility as a public health student to examine the reasons behind India's exclusion on the PEFAR list. If you are going to talk about corruption in India, then why not talk about how the current President of USA came into power?? Indian government is not fallible and neither are most of the governments in today's world. If indeed the reason for exclusion in the list is corruption, then explain to me why other foreign governments are pouring in money. My opinion, is that, there is enough money now, but there is a need for effective implementation of current HIV/AIDS programs. Best, Dr. Chaudhuri B.D.S M.P.H angela chaudhuri " <chaudhuriangela@...>
