Guest guest
Hi I have diagnosed CMT before 19 years. Type 2. I went last week to new professor, and he said that I don’t have CMT and I have SMA. The reasons are: 1. The age that started - 19-25 2. No one in my family has CMT 3. The EMG I don’t know what to do , because all the Dr. and the hospitals that I was tested and the EMG said CMT. All I feel is the same kind it's written in this forum. Do any one understand it? Guest guest
Hi all- I was dx in 1971. There is no family history other than I passed it on to my 2 children. I had the DNA test done and just spoke to my neorologist. My test came back NEGATIVE!! It means I do not have CMT1. There aren't any tests yet for other types. It's all in the gene markers. Jackie-I don't think being Jewish makes a difference as far as CMT goes. My dad was Jewish and my mom was not.My grandparents were from Germany and Russia on my dds side. On my moms we go back to the American Indians and English. I'm a Heinze 57! This condition can be a real stumper to some of us. Good luck.... Barb Fl.
