Bob,

After back surgery, when I returned home and complained to the

physical therapist I was in more pain than the Percocet could handle,

a " visiting " hospital nurse brought me Oxycontin. One every 12 hours -

it did do far more than the Percocet (longer acting), but once I read

up on it and understood the addiction potential, I quit taking it.

That was about 6 days. I was already jonesing from the

surgery/hospital meds, Dilaudid and Percocet, and just got to a point

I was going to get off everything once and for all and tough out the

pain. I can't afford to become addicted to anything ever again. One

thing all those pain meds did, and I noticed this especially with the

Oxycontin, was my tremors increased in amplitude.

I'm so sorry your CMT pain necessitates Oxycontin/stronger stuff.

Have you asked your doc if there is anything else, or a combination

of other pain meds, instead of Oxycontin?

Gretchen
