Guest guest
Hi everyone, My doctor just put me on OxyContin CR 20mg, twice a day for the rest of my life (I am 51). Does anyone know if there is/are CMT-specific problems with taking OxyContin? Also, I am afraid of this medication. I have found that it can, and usually is, physically addicting (as opposed to psychologically addictive) and that many patients have to be weaned from it via methadone. Seems like a very drastic step that I don't feel is appropriate. The doctor is looking into the possibility of medicinal marijuana in Indiana. He said he knows it requires a special license to prescribe but he doesn't know if it can even be prescribed in Indiana. Any thoughts, suggestions, warnings or info would be greatly appreciated as I am quite stressed over this. The last thing I want to do is become physically addicted to this drug............and I can readily see, just from the 2 times I have taken it, where addiction could occur in less than a week. Thanks in advance, Bob in Indiana
