Guest guest
Cymbalta is an antidepressant. One of my clients takes Cymbalta and Wellbutrin for severe depression with excellent results. Tom

Guest guest
Hi Jackie, I am so happy to hear that someone else with CMT is on Cymbalta. How long did it take to work? He seems to feel better already. He also has less pain in his calves. He didn't feel as sick yesterday. Were you sick for any length of time when you first started it? Guest guest
, I am lucky that i do not experience any pain with CMT, but my doctor thought that it would be a good idea to go on that drug since it does benefit nerve problems. I remember at the beginning I would be extremely tired about 1-2 hours after taking it and would have to lay down. If I go more than 2 days with not taking it, I get extreme exhaustion and can barely keep my head up (I guess from the withdrawl) Other than that, I have had no other side effects. The medicine did work fairly quickly. Just before that I was on Wellbutrin, but did not feel the emotional benefits like the way I have with Cymbalta. I have recommended to other people I know to ask their doctor about it and each doctor has said that it is new but they have heard good things about it and are willing to prescribe it to their patients that ask about it. How many miligrams did your doctor suggest? Mine wanted me on 30 mg 2 times a day, but since the 30 mg seemed to work, I just kept it at that level. The other benefit to that is now I have a 2 months supply (saves me $$$$) I now can sleep at night with no assistance. I no longer have panic attacks and I have stopped the teary eyes that seemed to happen at the drop of a hat. I am able to tackle my problems and everything is such better perspective! I always have a smile on my face and it not fake (before, I just faked that I was happy!) Keep me posted and feel free to email me with any questions you or your son may have. Guest guest
Hi, My Doc put me on 60 mgs of Cymbalta for pain 2 or 3 weeks ago. I am not sure what I think yet. Even though the pain has subsided a great deal, I am constantly fatigued during the day, and I can't sleep at night. I have tried to vary the time of day I take the drug, to no avail. When will the fatigue start fading? Mike
Guest guest
I too take Cymbalta, I had no ill effects like some people do and it seemed to work at first but now I am not sure. My pain is a little less but still get down in the dumps I am supposed to be taking 120 mil. but right now I do not have insurance and am depending on doc for samples. Guest guest
Mike, 60 mg is a lot to start on. They usually start on 30 and than after 1-2 weeks they bump you up. On 30 mg/day, i was fatigued for @ 2 weeks. (i can't exactly remember!) I don't believe it prevented me from sleeping at night, but i do remember the doctor saying to take it in the morning, in case that does affect me. Guest guest
Mike, Doc tells me that fatigue should subside in 4-5 weeks depending on the individual. Hang in there!! Butch
Guest guest
Mike, Butch, and all, I also am on Cymbalta, but I take sleeping pills in the evening which helps, I started on 30 mg it also made me tired and took me 5-6 -7 weeks to adjust, now the doctor want to increase the dose. Is anyone else taking pain medication with the drug? I think it does help. Glad to see the doctors are always looking at new ideas..thanks all of you. your info helps me bunches. Try the Cymbalta with Ambien in the evening. Let me know if it works for you also. Joyce

Guest guest
I just got my prescription yesterday for Cymbalta yesterday for the first time from my neurologist, to my not too much surprise, it was $180.00 for 60 of 20 mg. So it is going to have to sit there for a couple days until I start. My other script was $102.00. I hope it helps. From what I hear from you guys, it seems like it will. I was on Lexapro for depression and had a really bad reaction and immediately stopped. She told me to start with 20 mg a day then two 2 a day. Does this sound right to anyone?? Thanks,
Guest guest
, What type of reaction did you have from your other medication(Lexapro)? Thanks. Joyce
