Guest guest
Reema, Although I do not have speaking difficulties, sometimes in CMT vocal cords CAN be affected. CMT is a peripheral neuropathy, so is Frederich's Ataxia, and speech is an issue in FA. http://www.lindacrabtree.com/cmtnews/Vocal%20Cord%20Paralysis/Vocal%20Cord%20Par\ alysis%20and%20CMT.htm here's the link to our young CMT awardee's speech this year http://www.cmtworld.org/epublisher/publish/article_00119.php One way I mastered speaking was joining a group called Toastmasters for a few years. A fun group, and I learned a great deal. I believe they are worldwide http://www.toastmasters.org/ - look under " clubs around the world " - India IS listed. I also learned much about speaking from my 12 step conference work. Before that I was in school, reading, writing, critiquing, over and over. The best tool I picked up along the way was keeping a journal - it helps me keep my thoughts organized and express myself. Gretchen
