CMT and our limitations

Hello Everyone,

I was having a conversation recently with a friend about limitations.

With me my mind tells me that I can do anything, yet my body says be careful

not to overdo it. I must learn to balance all my energies and go at my own pace.

For consequences may have a detrimental affect to my body if I do not listen

to it and take good care of it. Such as pulled muscles, ligaments, a broken

leg, etc. Me, personally I do not take medication, yet if I needed it I would

take it. I have learned my limitations so I do not cause pain within my body. I

have never skiied(I'd probably break a leg or two), I tried ice skating (umm

well I ended up on crutches with torn ligaments and messed up my knee). Played

basketball (tore up more ligaments in reference to my knee). This happens to

my body, everyone is different, even people with CMT, we must recognize how

our bodies react to different situations. It is a bit of trial and error type of

method.

This is only my opinion and my experiences everyone is individual and

should be treated as such.

Thanks,

Heidi
