Guest guest
So this is not exactly related to CMT, but for all those who know me, they know that horses are my passion and it's what gets me out of bed in the morning and helps me with my CMT. My physical therapy so to say. (For those who don't know me, I am Liz, 20 years old, had CMT since I was three, have had four operations, am from NH, but go to the University of Kentucky as an animal production major (specializing in Equine Genetics)/english minor.) Anyway! I finally bought a horse! My parents lent me the money (I am paying them back on like a five year plan lol). He is a six year old dapple gray Thoroughbred gelding named Cherokee. He raced for a year and a half and is a grandson of Seattle Slew. And he is *perfect*. Exciting enough that he is a challenge, but not dangerous. We will be competing in open shows and I will be using him for practice for when I ride in the Intercollegiate Dressage Association. Anyway, I just thought I'd share. I encourage anyone with CMT to follow their passions - even playing sports and riding horses. I know that I personally take people telling me " you can't " as a challenge. I then have too! Happy New Year to all! Liz
