Guest guest
I have joined this site to try and learn all I can about CMT. My 16 year old son has recently been diagnosed with CMT. My wife has always been clumsy and awkward and we just thought that is all it was. Now we know what her problem has always been since my son was diagnosed. His condition is worse than hers. She is 48 and we have been married for 24 years and I can't tell that her's has progressed in that time, except for 2 lower leg fractures in the last 5 years that I guess can be contributed to it. My son doesn't have much muscle in his lower legs and alot of numbness in his feet. His gait is a little different, but he gets around fine. He is working part time after school at a saw mill which is tough work. He has always been clumsy and we never thought much about it until a while back be turned his ankle and fractured his foot. The Doctor suggested that his symptoms indicated that he might have CMT. We took him to a neurologist and he confirmed CMT. A month ago I had never heard of CMT. I am just trying to learn all I can about it so I can do what I can for my son. He is a great kid and he is my life. His name is Devin, please remember him in your prayers. Hoping and praying for a cure, Mike
