Guest guest Posted March 6, 2005 Report Share Posted March 6, 2005 Job Opportunities for Tamil Nadu Comprehensive Care and Treatment Programme for HIV Positive Families ARV Project in India Children's Investment Fund Foundation (CIFF) has awarded funding to Tamil Nadu AIDS Control Society (TANSACS) to expand antiretroviral treatment to 1000 parents/family members and care and support (including nutrition support) to 4000 parents/family members of HIV infected and affected children to prevent children being orphaned in the State of Tamil Nadu. SAATHII (Solidarity and Action Against the HIV Infection in India) has been awarded funding to provide technical, operational and logistical assistance to the TANSACS and implementing partners in setting up the project and Yale university has been awarded funding for monitoring and evaluation. The Tamilnadu ARV program will implement three family-centered continuum of care and ARV treatment programs through existing government services in equal partnership with NGOs, CBOs and Positive Networks to provide a comprehensive range of HIV/AIDS care, support and treatment services including voluntary testing and counselling, routine medical care, routine HIV care, diagnosis and treatment of opportunistic infections, provision of antiretroviral treatment by trained clinicians, counselling for treatment preparedness and literacy, provision of psycho-social services, nutrition services and adherence counselling, out reach, home care linkages to income generating activities, legal services and housing. This program will be implemented at Government Kilpak Medical College Hospital, Chennai, Government Mohan Kumaramangalam Medical college Hospital and Salem Government Medical college Hospital, Tirunelvelli. These three programs will cater to families from their respective surrounding districts. SAATHII has following openings that need to be filled immediately. Tamil Speaking Medical Doctor with experience in Provision of ARV Therapy Position: Medical Director (Part time appointments in Chennai, Salem and Tirunelvelli can be negotiated, if willing to be available for fixed number of weekdays during regular working hours). Qualifications: Tamil speaking medial doctor with extensive expertise in managing the care of people infected with HIV/AIDS and prior experience in operating and scaling an ARV/PMTCT initiative, preferably in India. Should be willing to travel extensively within the state of Tamilnadu. Should have networking skills and ability to work with multiple sectors that are involved with health care of People Living with HIV. Responsibilities: Technical assistance on all clinical and non-clinical aspects of ARV and HIV management, assessment of implementation sites, build relationships, conduct outreach with, and liaise with key stakeholders; ensure program is implemented according to agreed framework; ensure timely program implementation; address and develop procedures for all clinical management, provide training to all cadres of health care providers on clinical aspects and assist in the development of monitoring system for clinical aspects of the project, working in conjunction with evaluators. 2. Tamil Speaking Program Manager with experience in scaling up HIV care, support and treatment programs. Position: Program Manager Qualifications: Tamil speaking medial doctor or a person with Ph.D/MPH/Pscho-Social Science degree with extensive expertise in managing care, support and treatment programs for people infected with HIV/AIDS in India. Should have prior experience in working with NGOs, CBOs, Positive networks and the state government. Should be willing to travel extensively within the state of Tamilnadu. Should have networking skills and ability to work with multiple sectors including the government that are involved with health care of People Living with HIV. Responsibilities: Technical assistance on non-clinical aspects of HIV care, support and treatment programs including VCTC, PMTCT, psycho-social, nutrition, adherence, out reach, treatment preparedness and literacy, home care, and child specific services. Other responsibilities will include operational and logistic coordination of the entire project, selection, supportive assistance and monitoring of NGOs, CBOs and Positive networks, provide/organize training to all cadres of health care providers on non-clinical aspects of the project, assist in the development of monitoring system for non-clinical aspects of the project, working in conjunction with evaluators. 3. Tamil Speaking Administrative Manager with Accounts and Management Background. Qualifications: Tamil speaking person of management and accounts background with extensive expertise in managing prevention or care, support and treatment programs for people infected with HIV/AIDS in India. Should have sound accounting background and prior experience in working with the Government, NGOs, CBOs and Positive networks. Should be willing to travel extensively within the state of Tamilnadu. Responsibilities: Will be responsible for logistic coordination of the entire project including getting necessary approvals for various aspects of the project, coordinating travel, training and meeting logistics, procurement and distribution of antiretrovirals and nutrition supplements among others. Will also be responsible for accounts oversight of the entire projects and will generate required financial reports in close collaboration with TANSACS, CIFF, SAATHII and Implementing partners (government hospitals, NGOs, CBOs and Positive Networks). 4. Tamil Speaking Program Coordinator Qualifications: Tamil speaking person of administration or public heath/community health background with prior experience in working with prevention or care, support and treatment programs for people infected with HIV/AIDS in India. Should have prior experience in working with the Government, NGOs, CBOs and Positive networks. Should be willing to travel extensively within the state of Tamilnadu. Responsibilities: Will be located mostly at TANSACS and will serve as a liaison between TANSACS, Implementing partners and Technical Assistance Team. Will work closely with the administrative manager on logistic coordination of the project including getting necessary approvals for various aspects of the project, coordinating travel, training and meeting logistics, report submission, procurement and distribution of antiretrovirals and nutrition supplements among others. Will also work the administrative manager on all aspects of accounting related to TANSACS, TA Team and Implementing partners (Government Hospitals, NGOs, CBOs and Positive Networks).
