Guest guest
Greg, I have lived with CMT 40 some years. At your age, I too had all kinds of fears like those you mentioned, plus others. Later in my 20's, I learned to let go of these fears and begin to retrain my brain to have positive thoughts. I had lots of dreams, all of which I have accomplished - AND have new dreams, which I am accomplishing too. Goals are very important to me too. I learned that if I put garbage in my brain, garbage will come out; whereas, if I fill my brain with positive thoughts, my motivation will be greater and set for accomplishment. I started to learn to meditate and that helps tremendously with aligning myself with my goals and with my thosse of my creatrix. Muscle jerks are common in CMT, plus pain sometimes. I went through a number of years with muscle spascity and rigidity too. There are medications, perhaps drinking tonic water would help? (I have not personally tried this) You might also go through our archives and read the posts on Vitamin C. Keep your mind focused on what's positive in the day you are given. I discovered that an attitude of gratitude goes along way towards remaining positive! ~ Gretchen
