Guest guest
I am a 59 year old retired college math and computer instructor who has lived most of his life with Type 2 CMT. My brother and I are the only members of our family who have been diagnosed but it is obvious that our father and his brothers, along with our paternal grandfather had CMT. About nine years ago I was diagnosed with lymphoma and had a successful treatment that included vincristine and adriamycin. As a result of the chemo, I am now experiencing a painful burning sensation in my feet that is controlled with neurontin. My brother and I have experienced the problems of CMT since early childhood but were first " diagnosed " around 25 years ago and have worn AFOs until around 5 years ago. We both put the AFOs away and use a cane for balance as the AFOs seem to cause us to have pain and tired feet. KD5UJH
