Guest guest
, Some info I found - it is conflicting and so I have asked Dr. Greg (CMT specialist in Seattle) about the B6 issue and he has in turn asked his colleague Dr. Gareth Parry who is a a world renowned neurologist and has special expertise in this. Dr. does say " I do believe, however, that too much B6 is NOT good for people with CMT " . I hope to have a definitive answer for you soon. Below is the information I was working with; but found too many differences: 2 mg per day is the U.S. RDA for B6/EU RDA: 1.6-2mg These tables might be helpful - amount of B6 is under the Water Soluable vitamins section - scroll down http://www.anyvitamins.com/rda.htm But on this site the B6 RDA is shown to be lower http://lpi.oregonstate.edu/infocenter/vitamins/vitaminB6/ And here, the RDA amounts are different for men and women! The recommended dietary allowance (RDA) for vitamin B6 is 2.0 mg/day for the adult man and 1.6 mg/day for the adult woman. When I was in college, my neurologist prescribed the multi-vitamin Theragran. I no longer take it, but it had everything I needed in it at the right amounts. Maybe more info here http://www.pdrhealth.com/drug_info/rxdrugprofiles/drugs/cx1278b.shtml Also, maybe a good idea to compare the content listing of several different vitamins or ask your doctor directly which one he/she recommends for you. Anyway, hang on to the B6 issue - I hope to hear back very soon. Gretchen
